Q:
We're getting married! What are the wedding policies and procedures?
A: Our understanding of a wedding is that it is a ceremony of covenant and
commitment in which a man and woman promise their love and loyalty to each other
in the presence of God and loved ones. Therefore, much careful thought and planning
should go into making it the best expression of one's feelings and intentions. Our
pastor and facilities are available for the weddings of members, and as schedule
permits, of non-members. For complete details on wedding policies and procedures,
contact the parish office (231) 352-7427 to request a copy of A Guide for Weddings
at Frankfort United Methodist Church. There are slight variations in policy (seating
capacity, et cetera) should you wish your wedding to be at the Elberta church.
Q:
Our group needs a place to meet. Is there a building policy?
A: As the schedule permits, we strive to make our facilities available to
groups and organizations that contribute to the care and well-being of God's people,
promote civic responsibility, and encourage healthy relationships in the community.
For complete details about our building policy, contact the parish office (231) 352-7427.
Q: There's
a lot of snow outside. Is the church closed?
A: In general, the decision to close the building during the week will be made by
the pastor. In this case, all activities for the day and evening will be canceled.
Those in charge of groups scheduled to meet will be notified and asked to contact
their participants.
Q:
What if there's foul weather on Sunday morning?
A: With the exception of blizzard or ice storm conditions, Sunday morning
worship will not be canceled. In all cases, we would ask that you err on the side
of caution, following the guideline: when in doubt, don't go out.
